The Cranbrook market right now

The Kootenay and Boundary region, anchored by Cranbrook as its largest East Kootenay centre, recorded 312 sales in June 2026, a 4.7% increase over June 2025 and one of the strongest showings of any Interior BC sub-region that month. The single-family benchmark price rose 1.5% year-over-year to $634,000, while condos climbed 4.7% to $335,300; only townhomes softened, down 6.9% to $492,800. Active listings grew 4.6% to 1,891 even as sales rose — a rare combination that gives Cranbrook-area brokers both more transactions and more inventory to work with.

Board leadership notes the Kootenay and Boundary market outperformed many other regions across the province in June, with inventory continuing to grow and support healthy conditions. That momentum still has to compete with the 2026 renewal wave: roughly 1.15 million Canadian mortgages are up for renewal this year, and a Cranbrook brokerage riding a strong sales month can’t also manually chase every renewal and switch-and-save conversation. Dedicated fulfillment capacity and AI-driven follow-up let an East Kootenay team cover both fronts without adding headcount.
